Likes and Dislikes

My favorite part of the class was how we were able to interact with each other through an online class, with very minimal in-person interaction. This demonstrated our ability and potential to communicate with one another, and also showed everybody’s motivation and their willingness to meet deadlines and due dates. My least favorite thing about the class was the discussion posts. Sometimes it was tough to come up with ideas just to meet the word requirement. It was also challenging to comment on other people’s posts – sometimes, there just was not too much to be said that was not said already. I also felt the tests were on the challenging side, and did not really reflect what I have actually picked up from the class. Though there were practice exercises in the book, I feel that some sort of test review for the tests would have been an improvement to the class.

  1. I also like how we were able to interact with each other online by reading and commenting each other blog. When I first enrolled in this course, I assumed there would be no interaction with our classmates beside our final, but I was wrong. There is also group project that also guide us to interaction. I also agree with the discussion can be tedious sometimes, especially checking on my word count. I agree that the tests were a little hard because for some reason I always get a low grade on the test. Maybe because I haven’t understood enough of critical thinking to attain a higher score.

  2. I agree, I enjoy commenting blogs of our fellow classmates. Since we don't see or meet each other in a classroom, this is our only means of communication. It's interesting because this way, we get to know each other based on each other's thoughts instead of the usually appearances and what not. I also agree that the blog word requirement should be removed. I feel that our opinions should not be limited or restricted because sometimes opinions will just come out as nonsense trying to meet the requirement. I understand that we should meet requirements in order to help us elloborate and develop our ideas, but it should be up to us whether or not we think our ideas are well developed enough and then they should be graded by quality, rather than quantity.

  3. I also agree with you, along with Rachelleee and Tyrone about commenting on each other’s blogs were a great way for interacting with each other. It required us to actually communicate with each other in addition to our own posts. I have always had trouble meeting word count requirements. When you have something to say, sometimes there is just really nothing more to say about it. Sometimes I felt myself just re-wording what I had already stated in the beginning of my blog. I have learned a lot in this class in terms of concepts and how to put them into use, but we were never really tested on that.
